A few people have asked a very valid and curious question;
ReplyDelete"What's the difference between a drum masterclass & a clinic?"
I consulted Colin Woolway on his thoughts on this, & we concurred on the following: -
A masterclass is an informal gathering, where drummers are able to get up close and ask questions of the tutor/lecturer/performer and steer the content of the class. Participation is often allowed, and in most cases, encouraged, so please bring sticks and a pad!
A clinic is usually more formal, with the better ones combining a mix of education, entertainment & inspiration.
With a line-up featuring Whitey and Woolway, you'd be hard-pushed to find a better combination.
Putting together a playlist for the "warm-up" music; great fun, including tributes to Stuart Cable & John Barry.
